| CineSat is a high performance meteorological software package
that does a fully automatic processing
and analysis of satellite images. A unique image sequence motion detector analyses and forecasts cloud movement in real-time. A special feature of CineSat is the convincing, high quality prediction of satellite images several hours ahead. Provided with a sequence of weather satellite images, CineSat automatically computes the following These primary products do also form the basis of interesting user-specific nowcast studies and operational value added products. Real-time in this context means that all forecast products are being computed and updated with every incoming new satellite image (e.g. every 15 minutes or half-hour), and are available several minutes after image reception. CineSat has been developed by GEPARD in close cooperation with the Austrian national meteorological institute, ZAMG. It is now used for operational weather forecasting at meteorological sites including Air Traffic Control authorities. CineSat also turned out to significantly improve the quality of professional TV weather animation. |

| At his point we would like to thank Mr. Johannes de Waard from ESOC and his engineering staff, Mr. Frank Jürgen Diekmann, Johannes Schmetz, Ken Holmlund, and Volker Gärtner for their valuable inputs to the first water vapor wind prototype system delivered to the European Space Agency's Operation Centre in 1992; | ||||||||||||||||
| Mrs. Veronika Zwatz-Meise, Mr. Fritz Neuwirth and their team at ZAMG for the continuous valuable contribution to the further development of new meteorological CineSat features, and the successful cooperation in our MISSION project (Automated Conceptual Model Classification); | ||||||||||||||||
| Mr. Jörg Asmus, Wolfgang Benesch, Thomas Böhm and Mr.
Wolfgang Raatz from DWD for the good cooperation in the course of the CB studies; |

| Many thanks as well to Mr. Gerhard Hailzl, Mr. Michael Ableidinger, and their colleagues at the airport in Vienna, who helped to further customize the package, being the first CineSat users in the field of Air Traffic Control. | ||||||||||||||||
| Last not least, we want to thank all CineSat users who discuss their wishes and future requirements, who allow us to present examples of their meteo. applications and give us valuable feedback to further improve the CineSat package. | ||||||||||||||||
